بامداد امروز مراسم انتخاب بهترین‌های دنیای بازیهای ویدیویی برگزار شد. در این رویداد از میان 102 نامزد در رشته‌های مختلف، بهترین‌ها انتخاب شدند. از میان کمپانی‌های مختلف نینتندو با 23، سونی با 15 و اکتیویژن با 7 عنوان، بیشترین تعداد نامزدی در رشته‌های مختلف را به خود اختصاص دادند. 4 بازی با 6 نامزدی در رشته‌های مختلف از دیگر عناوین پیشی گرفتند. این بازیها شامل: Destiny 2، Horizon: Zero Dawn، Super Mario Odyssey و Breath of the Wild می‌شود.
همچنین جایزه‌ی شخصیت مهم صنعت بازیهای ویدیویی به کارول شاو، خالق بازی River Raid اهدا شد.
